Charging by the bed: one charger for two
One charger on the bedside table can serve both sides of the bed: two phones, a watch or earbuds, and the lamp. Use cables long enough to reach, charge on the table, and keep the phone off the pillow.

One charger, two sides
Most bedrooms have one socket by the bed, and two people with a phone each, often a watch or earbuds too. A charger with several ports, or a strip with USB-C built in, serves both sides from that one socket.
| By the bed | Choose |
|---|---|
| Two phones and a lamp | Cubical C1: two USB-C ports, 45 W and 20 W with both in use, and three Type F sockets |
| Two phones, and watches or earbuds | Cylindric UX1: four USB-C ports, 165 W in all |
| Two lamps as well | Cubical C1: the lamps in its sockets, the phones on its USB-C ports |
Cables that reach
Put the charger on one side, and the other side needs the longer cable. USB-C Cord A1 comes in 1 m and 2 m: the short one for your side, the long one for the other. Braided, it lies along the edge of the bed quietly, next to the linen.
Charge safely at night
County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service is clear about phones in bed:
- Never charge a phone under the pillow or in the bed.
- Charge on a hard surface, away from anything that burns: the bedside table, not the duvet.
- Use the charger that came with the device, or a compatible one.
- Unplug when it is full.
The same service goes further and advises against charging overnight at all. The calm way to use a charger by the bed is in the evening, while you read, with the phone on the table.

Use a charger with two or more USB-C ports. Cubical C1 has two, with three sockets for lamps; Cylindric UX1 has four, 165 W in all.

No. Fire services advise never charging a phone under the pillow or in the bed. Charge it on the bedside table, away from bedding.

Cubical C1 or Cylindric UX1 by the bed?
Cubical C1 if the lamps share it with two phones. Cylindric UX1 if four devices charge at once.
